Media personalities Sheilah Gashumba and MC Kats have finally reconciled after a heated exchange on X formerly known as Twitter.
On Wednesday morning, May 29, Sheilah Gashumba appeared on a TikTok live and cleared the air why she quit NBS' After 5 show. MC Kats , real name Edwin Katamba is also a host of the show.
In the video, Gashumba said that their content direction was parallel to hers.
For the matter of example, she said that she joined the entertainment show at a time when Joshua Baraka had just started his music career and she wanted to help new sounds to be explored, but her efforts were frustrated.
Gashumba, who currently works with NRG Uganda said that whenever she would present his music to her co-hosts and the producers, they took her in circles.
She explained that at that time, there was a need to look at the music industry through a different lens.
Actually, there were three reasons, so I just decided not to do TV anymore. When I do things, I always want to leave an impact, which atmosphere I felt like not given. MC Kats is my friend, the DJs are my friends, but we were not on the same music thinking capacity, What I know about music is different from what they know, and of course, what they know is right to them and also what I know is right to me.”- Gashumba explained.
Gashumba's statement didn't settle well with MC Kats and he said:
"Just like your knowledge skyrocketed Rickyz's career to the Grammys."
On landing to MC Kats' post, Sheilah came out and made some clarification :
"Dearest @mckatsug you didn’t watch the full video, I fully stated that you and @DouglasLwangaUg are the best with Ugandan industry and Ugandan sound and fortunately Or unfortunately I have more knowledge with international sound and music PR. Please listen to understand and not everything is about fighting and exchanging words. Asides that, I will be at the creative arts conference organized by my brother @DouglasLwangaUg ?? I still send you @mckatsug hugs and love and @nbstv is always family to me. Don’t try to make a fight out of nothing
Later in the day, the two made up and even stepped out together.MC Kats shared a video in which they are seen hugging each other hours after the verbal exchange.
Gashumba responded to the post, saying:
"Made peace with my brother @mckatsug."
The other co-hosts of NBS After 5 at the time she was there were Douglas Lwanga, DJ Roja, and DVJ Mercy Pro. They seemed unbothered,unlike MC Kats.
