Tororo, Uganda | The local authorities have arrested Vincent Emodo, the LCII Chairperson for Pereje Ward in Apokor Town Council, after police discovered a firearm in his possession.
According to Police Spokesperson Johnson Moses Mugwe, the arrest followed a report from Stephen Okware, the Chairman of LCI Pereje Cell. He informed the police that a gun was found hidden under Emodo's bed.
During the search, officers recovered the firearm, which contained one bullet, along with a magazine holding an additional 29 rounds of ammunition. Further investigations led to a search of the home of Denis Emuria, Emodo's son, where police discovered a pair of army green trousers, army shoes, a maroon beret believed to belong to the Uganda Prisons Service, and an army jacket.
Both Emodo and Emuria are currently detained at Tororo Police Station as investigations into the matter continue.
