Members of parliament left fuming after General Muhoozi Kainerugaba allegedly flew to the US.

    in summary
Members of the Committee were left speechless after they received reports that earlier today, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba caught a flight to the United States of America.

Following the string of posts from an account that allegedly belongs to chief of Defence forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, he was summoned last week to appear before the committee to give an explanation regarding the death threats he kept hurling at opposition leaders.

Members of the Defence Committee of Parliament were however left dismayed after the rebellious general stood his ground, stating that he would never appear before the committee.

He stated that instead of appearing for questioning, he would rather arrest every single Member of Parliament summoning him and instead have them answer to him.

The said committee however refused to consider budget proposals for the Defense Ministry and turned away officials led by Jacob Oboth-Oboth, the State Minister in charge of General Duties so they instructed them to return to the committee today, Monday, January 20th with the General.

Well, news on the block reveals that the Members of the Committee were left speechless after they received reports that earlier today, the General caught a flight to the United States of America.

Honourable Barnabas Tinkasimire, one of the committee members made this revelation stating that the Chief of Defence Forces had travelled to the United States to attend the inauguration ceremony of United States President Donald Trump.

He was supposed to appear today. We are now hearing that he has gone to the USA to attend Trump’s swearing in,” said Hon Tinkasimire stated.

All the hopes of the Members of Parliament to put General Muhoozi Kainerugaba on the hot seat have been trumped considering that he is most likely not to appear before the committee, just like he vowed not to!

As if that was not enough, also the officials from the Defence Ministry wrote to the same committee informing them that they would not be able to attend today’s meeting because they had to attend  a weekly cabinet meeting at State House Entebbe.

They therefore asked for postponing to appear before the committee tomorrow on Tuesday, January 21.

With all the current happenings, very many individuals occupying political offices have had a lot to say with many questioning whether General Muhoozi Kainerugaba is answerable to anyone considering how fearless he has been with his recent posts.

With many saying he will get away with everything he has done regarding his recent posts, this does not seem very far fetched. What is your take on the matter?

I think the authority of our parliament works only on certain people but not everyone.
