In an exclusive interview with SPark Tv on Tuesday, June 18, Singer Kabako, whose real name is Yusuf Senabulya, shared the reasons behind his decision to take off his shirt while performing for his fans on stage
According to the popular artist behind the hit song "Nanfuka," some individuals perceive this act as disrespectful. However, Kabako clarified that it is not disrespectful to him or his family, and therefore, it should not be seen as disrespectful to others.
Kabako highlighted the importance of Ugandans recognizing the evolving nature of the world, especially in the realm of showbiz which has proven to be successful for many artists. Despite not being heavily invested in showbiz, he mentioned that removing his shirt can be a strategic move for his career.
Although he does not consider himself a showbiz person, Kabako stated that removing his shirt can be beneficial for his career, and if it works for him, he sees no reason not to do it.
Furthermore, Kabako urged Ugandans to refrain from criticizing him for his actions, pointing out that shirtless performances are not exclusive to him as even international artists engage in such acts. He emphasized the need for people to embrace change in fashion and understand that what works for him may not necessarily be conventional.
"I don't understand why people criticize me for removing my shirt when there are others who do the same without any backlash. People need to realize that the world is evolving, and we cannot cling to outdated fashion trends. If removing my shirt helps me connect with my audience, then I will continue to do so," Kabako expressed.
