It is hard for people to recall their starting point especially when they reach their peak of success but for Singer Weasel real name Douglas Mayanja, it is a different case. He has come out and attributed his entire fame and success to his elder brother and fellow singer Jose Chameleone. Chameleone , being one of the living music legends in the Ugandan entertainment industry did not leave his brother at his time of need but rather stood up for him.
Weasel did not only thank his brother for being an inspiration that made him want to make it further in the music Industry but he also thanked him for all the help he rendered to him during the time he needed him the most. This proves Chameleone’s support was not only mental but also physical.
When Weasel was beginning his music career, he started as a solo artist and then went ahead to be in a duo with his best friend, the late Mozey Radio. As young artistes who were dreaming big but without money to hit the studio to record a song or even do any videos. Weasel notes that this is the time when his brother Jose Chameleone helped them out big time.
According to Weasel, Chameleone signed the duo on to his record label Leone Island and their career started from there. They became bigger and also won multiple Awards both in Uganda and outside before Radio died in 2018 leaving Weasel and his career in a pit.
Despite all the fame, the singer has decided not to forget his rough beginning because it always inspires him to do better every single time. He therefore decided to thank his elder brother not only for giving him a chance but also for believing in him
“I wouldn't be here if Jose Chameleone hadn’t helped me with my brother Mowzey Radio. I remember our careers started in his hands and we can’t take that away from him. Chameleone is the biggest reason why you all see me here still standing and giving you vibes,” he revealed.
