Nigerian singer, Wizkid and Tems have both appeared on this week's Billboard Hot 100 chart after the success of their "Essence" song collaboration.
Their collabo debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at position number 82 and this was announced by the the Billboard charts company on their official twitter page.
This was the first time Tems appeared on this highly rated music chart but Wizkid who was already used to appearing on the Billboard, simply welcomed and congratulated his sister Tems.
Their song first became popular in the United States after former president, Barack Obama highlighted it on his top 2020 songs playlist that he has been making since his days in the White House. It's on this list that he normally highlights songs that he currently likes and listens to.
How many times has Wizkid appeared on Billboard Hot 100 chart
Wizkid has appeared on this chart 3 times, the first time being in 2016 when his song "One Dance" which he sang with Drake became number 1 for 10 non-consecutive weeks.
His second time was while featuring with Beyoncé on their collabo, "Brown skin girl" which peaked at number 76 in 2019.
And now the latest with Tems at number 82 as I had said above and this means he is not a new comer when it comes to this particular music chart.
What is the Billboard Hot 100 chart
This is a highly reputable music chart in the United States of America that compiles the top songs on the country over a period of one week.
It is believed to be the highest music chart in the world where an artist can know that his/her song is hitting globally.
Their tracking cycle is usually a week from Friday to Thursday where by they collect data on radio plays, online streams and physical purchase of music throughout the United States.
The chart is however different from the Billboard company's other charts like Billboard 200, Top Triller Global and other charts that the company publishes.
