There were speculations that Ghetto Gladiator Bobi Wine was banned from CBS radio because of chaos that ensued during his last talk show. It had never been confirmed however until now. Meddie Nsereko, one of the senior presenters and a manager at the station disclosed last weekend that since Bobi Wine’s appearance at the station on July 5, 2020, the station leadership was left in shock, so much that they made a decision not to invite him back ever.
Meddie stated that at the time Bobi had his talk show at CBS, he was campaigning for the 2021 presidential elections and he therefore appeared at the Bulange-based station for the weekend talk show amid high security.
Meddie stated that what shocked them was the tons of the Principals supporters gathered outside the station, and at the end, they were going crazy over seeing Bobi Wine that it took police to disband them and restore calm in the area.
According to Nsereko, Bobi Wine kept on hurling insults towards the ruling party and The President, something that conflicted the position of the station. Meddie said he tired time and again to plead with him to sensor his words to no avail.
“It was such a scary moment…I looked outside the window and saw the kind of people that were standing outside and I figured we were probably getting shut down. Bobi Wine was going on and on. I begged him to please slow down and that they were going to shut down this station, but he wouldn't listen.” Said Nsereko.
It was then that the management of the station decided against ever inviting Bobi Wine for a talk show for fear that it would affect the station to the point of shutting them down.
“Indeed from that time, CBS has decided not to bring back Kyagulanyi because they are concerned that he will bring trouble,” he said.
