Mayanja Joseph professionally addressed as Jose Chameleone is one of the Ugandan artists who have over the years released songs that urge people to be good to others.
In his song 'Effuga Bbi', Chameleone condemns domestic violence with all strong means possible.
However, it seems the singer failed to pick the message in the song and apply it in his real life.
This is because on Sunday March 24, Daniella Atim, the estranged wife of the legendary singer took to her Instagram page and revealed how she was a victim of domestic violence for 16 years.
Important to recall is that Chameleone and Daniella officially legalised their relationship on June 7th, 2007 in a colorful wedding ceremony and the two have 5 children together.
For the period Chameleone and Daniella stayed together, they encountered problems but always hid them from public.
However, in 2017, there was no more to hide as Daniella left the singer's home and started staying at Sipapa’s home.
She went ahead and filed for divorce at Nakawa Magistrate Court citing brutality but the pair managed to settle their differences and ‘re-united’.
In February 2019, Daniella and her children relocated the USA after Jose Chameleone splashed over $200,000 to secure a mansion in Minneapolis Minnesota.
Just a few months after settling in the US, the mother of five started showing signs that had dumped Chameleone with cryptic posts and audios.
For instance in September, 2020, an audio made rounds on the internet with Daniela Atim claiming that she is no longer involved with Jose Chameleone and looks at him as a brother.
In August 2022, Daniella took to Instagram and rebuked Chamili’s mum to ‘do her work’ after Weasel Manizo thumped Sandra Teta. In a post, Daniella insinuated that Mrs Prossy had always kept a blind eye on his boys while battering women.
In October 2023, Daniella broke silence and revealed that she was forced to leave Chameleone because he had become a drunkard and would come home in the morning.
Since Daniella moved to the US 5-years ago, Chamili has been trying hard to win her back in vain.
Now in her most recent Instagram post, Atim set netizens tongues waging when she revealed how she endured a 16-year ordeal with torture from her husband.
"I moved to the US exactly five years ago and sought asylum from many things including domestic violence that I endured for 16 years.I am a single mom raising my 5 kids on my own. Even though the age I am turning this year sounds too serious, I am choosing to relieve my early life while healing my nervous system. I am a beautiful work in progress Say no to domestic violence."
