A fan, yesterday clashed with NBS TV journalist and news anchor Canary Mugume, over football. When Manchester United was playing against Omonia, it was a tight game and Manchester had not scored even one goal after a few considerate minutes. Canary after 17 minutes commented inquiring why Manchester hadn’t scored yet.
"17 mins in the game and you haven’t scored against a weak team, and you call yourself a giant?” tweeted Canary.
Knowing that he is an Arsenal fan was enough to annoy a number of Manchester United die-hards as they clearly saw that Canary was not on their side but was rather trying to downplay their team. One Manchester fan k own as Mhartyn however took things too far when he responded to Canary that he has been a married man for quite some time but he has no child to show he does his conjugal duties as a husband
He therefore decided to come at Canary, mentioning that that fact alone showed he is not a man and he should rest himself instead of using his energy to focus on a losing team. This was an attack on a very crucial and personal issue that no one has any idea about.
“13 months into ur marriage and you have no kid and u call urself a man ! Rest ,” he tweeted.
However much a section of inconsiderate Ugandans did laugh at such a sick joke this was obviously not funny to everyone because according to them, things were blown out of proportion and Mhartyn went too far with this joke. It is indeed true that Canary has been married for more than a year now without a child as of yet but this may not be something to talk about.
There could be a heavy reason as to why a married man surely has no kids yet and it could be a tough one to even talk about. This is why Farida Nakazibwe once attacked people who always demand children from couples. It is simply because no one knows their struggles. Let us learn to have limits to our jokes.
