Controversial musician Alien Skin has come out and declared war on Events promoter Abitex Promotions after he was banned from performing at the upcoming “enkuuka y'omwaka” event that is bound to take place at the end of the year.
Alien Skin has therefore announced that he will be hosting his own music festival, "Nkwacho," on the same day as the "Nkuuka." It must be remembered that the Enkuuka event is one of the most prestigious events that honor the Kabaka of Buganda.
By taking this step, Alien Skin could be opening a can of worms for himself as it seems he may turn out to be at war with the entire Buganda. The rivalry between Alien Skin and Abitex Promotions has been going on for some time, fueled by a series of disagreements and failed negotiations as well.
Remember that Alien Skin had initially considered selling his "Nkwacho" festival to Abitex Promotions, but the agreement was not seen through due to a bitter falling out between the two parties.
After having watched the video of Abitex declaring that Alien is forbidden from performing at his event, he could not stomach it so he recorded a defiant video and he declared that his decision to host "Nkwacho" on the same day as "Nkuuka" was a direct challenge to Abitex Promotions.
He further announced that the entrance fee for his festival would be a measly Ugx 10K. This was deliberately under pricing his tickets while significantly undercutting Abitex's Ugx 15K ticket price.
Alien Skin further revealed that his "Nkwacho" festival would be held at the prestigious Nakivubo Stadium and it would be his final concert since he has been planning to retire from the music scene. While both events promise an exhilarating evening, we are not sure where the loyalty of revelers will lie.
