National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, commonly known as Bobi Wine, has further continued to issue a stern call for the resignation of his former colleague, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, from his position as parliamentary commissioner. The demand comes in response to Mpuuga's recent accusations against the party and its leadership.
In a lengthy statement, Kyagulanyi criticized Mpuuga's refusal to step down, labeling the controversial Shs 500 million 'Service Award' as an act of blatant corruption within the party ranks. He dismissed Mpuuga's accusations of NUP operating as a family affair, asserting that mere rhetoric would not alter the reality of financial impropriety.
The rift between the two leaders escalated further during Mpuuga's appearance on Central Broadcasting Service (CBS) radio, on Saturday mid-morning where he defended his acceptance of the controversial funds. Despite admitting to not yet receiving the first installment, Mpuuga justified his entitlement to the financial rewards, citing his former position as Leader of Opposition until his dismissal last December.
In a scathing critique, Mpuuga accused Kyagulanyi of exhibiting dictatorial tendencies and raised concerns about his suitability for state power. He questioned Kyagulanyi's leadership capabilities, describing him as inexperienced and recreational, unfit to address the multitude of issues facing the nation. Mpuuga also alleged that Kyagulanyi's primary concern is preserving his position as party president, perceiving any dissent as a threat to his authority.

Mpuuga, upon admission of the authenticity of leaked minutes, initially expressed remorse and apologized for his involvement. The allocation of such a significant sum of taxpayer money without justification, legal authority, or transparency is a clear violation of both ethical standards and legal statutes.
