Ugandan dancehall singer Baguma Crescent professionally addressed Beenie Gunter has come out to air his displeasure with Eddy Kenzo led Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) for not helping him while he was detained in the United Arabs Emirates (UAE).
Earlier this year, things turned worse for Bernie Gunter as he was nabbed by security operatives at the air port on his way back to Uganda and he had to spend several days behind the bars.
It was reported that the whole catastrophe started after the Tubayo hit maker tried to de-escalate a fight between promoters.
They were in a car and had already paid him. Unfortunately , all what happened was captured on camera and he was mistaken for having been an active participant in this fight too.
Two weeks later, he was arrested in Dubai despite the incident happening Abu Dhabi. He was flown back to where the incident happened and jailed.
While in jail, Beenie Gunter cried to Ugandans to help him raise money to see that all matters are settled. A few people stepped out and contributed to his release.
The singer however, says he was shocked to come to notice that the federation contributed zero coins to his release yet he had much hopes in them.
In an interview with Galaxy TV on Sunday, March 31, Beenie Gunter acknowledged that Eddy Kenzo (President of UNMF) pulled some money out of his pockets but UNMF as entity only managed to pay a deaf ear to his cries.
In the same interview, the Gun talk boss went on and vowed never to cover up the federation whenever they mess up.
According to Gunter, they are all waiting for the results and hopefully they will not have funny stories to tell when it comes to it.
Beenie Gunter stresses that artistes leaders always bring up stories when it comes to money. He, therefore, hopes this time around it is different.
He said Eddy Kenzo and his federation should do what they promised to do, otherwise no one is going to cover up for them.
"We are not going to cover up for UNMF, we need results. Kenzo knows the truth of what he told us and what we should expect. I hope we will not get less than that,” he mentioned in a video clip seen by the reporter.
The Federation was formed by Edirisa Musuuza also known as Eddy Kenzo. He did so even when there was an active association taking on the matters.
Fortunately he got artists that believed in his ideas and joined his federation. It has been doing well and last week Kenzo revealed that they had got money from the government that is meant to help artists.
It should be noted that lots of musicians are currently looking at that money. Under normal circumstances, this money is supposed to be borrowed by artists who would then later return it back to the federation. It’s not a cash handout like some of them might be thinking.
