Covid-19 vaccination at Kololo halted in preparation for state of the nation address
With the increasing cases of covid-19 in the country, the ministry of health had set up vaccination centers in different points for people to access the jab and one of these was the Kololo independence grounds.
Since then, over 10,000 people have been vaccinated with the astra zeneca vaccine. Unfortunately, the airstrip has been rounded off and vaccination stopped.
This is to enable preparations for the first State of the Nation Address which is to take place tomorrow. These addresses are normally held in the parliament but due to covid-19, there's need to social distance and hence the parliament not being able to facilitate the function.
Tomorrow, the president will be addressing the newly sworn in members of the 11th parliament at the Kololo independence grounds. This however left many Ugandans with mixed reactions, many wondering if the address is worth risking people's lives and others asking why it's not held virtually due to the circumstances. What's your say about this?
