Joshua Cheptegei named new tourism ambassador
    • February 10, 2021 • 3 years ago

World record holder in marathon, Joshua Cheptegei has landed yet another big opportunity of representing his mother nation Uganda on the international level.

The 24year old runner was earlier today named as the new brand ambassador for tourism in the country. The unveiling that was organized by the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) saw Cheptegei scoop the ambassadorship for a full year.

This post was initially held by Edirisa Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo whose tenure was faced by political and social scrutiny and it didn't play out well as they had thought.

The announcement of Cheptegei was positively recieved by many Ugandans, who claimed it was a long call coming for Cheptegei. This comes some had actually come out to request the Uganda Airlines to use Cheptegei as the image of the aircraft.

Let's hope the record holder will work well and not run away with insults like many of the former ambassadors.
