We all recall how musician King Michael was very cross as he complained about the Cindy -Sheebah battle that was slated for the same day as his concert where he was meant to celebrate 20 years in the music industry. The truth is that since last year, King Michael has been advertising his concert at which he was scheduled to take place at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
A few months ago however, Michael received a huge blow when Sheebah Karungi announced the same date, 15th September, for her Yolo Festival at Kololo Independence Grounds. King Michael was hurt because that was his birthday which he had chosen to celebrate with his fans in form of a concert.

“September 15th is my birthday. I wanted to cut a cake with my fans like how I did at Cubana,” King Michael revealed.
As If that was not enough, Michael woke up to the shocking news that Sheebah’s long term frenemy Cindy Sanyu had then also booked Kololo for her ‘Comeback’ concert on the same date. Cindy and Sheebah then sat down and decided to combine their concert at the venue and therefore turned it into a music battle. This left King Michael in depression as he realized he stood no chance against the pair
Fresh news on the block reveals that Michael has since received threats on his life with people commanding him to change the concert dates. He states that even when he tried to hold his ground and stand firm on his dates, he has received advice from his mother who told him not to risk his life over small money. This has therefore seen him shifting his concert ahead.
While appearing on Spark TV ‘Koona’ on Friday evening, King Michael revealed that it hurts to have invested over Shs160m in booking the venue and advertising for his show only to be forced into changing everything. He also stated that he shifted the concert to 20th September at Lido beach.
“I have faced a lot of resistance, this is more than a battle. I wrote to National Council of Sports seeking permission to use Cricket Oval last year September 2022, they responded to the later in February, 2023 but only received it July 2023. My life hasn’t been the same since, I am scared for my life and have been threatened. 20 years of King Michael, what I am supposed to tell my fans after a year of advertising. I have taken a lot of loans for this show to happen. I met up with my mother and she advised me to get another day and venue. The pain is in loosing over 160 millions Uganda shillings which will never be recovered. I apologize to my fans who were expecting me at Cricket Oval and Luwero on the September 15 to celebrate 20 years of King Micheal. We will be at Lido beach on September 17th. We shall have a family day. I have a lot planned for you.” Said King Michael
