Events host and media personality Edwin Katamba, aka MC Kats is one of the people that made a name for themselves via emceeing as well as hosting events in bars. He has always been considered the King of the night life, something that earned him his great Title, King of the Mic.
As an Mcee, Kats has been influential and he has led to the rise of many musicians honestly since he is fond of promoting musicians most especially when it comes to his night businesses. Well, recently, MC Kats has been a bit off the radar and many of his fans have been wondering why. He has come out and opened up about why he quit hosting events in bars around Kampala city.
According to MC Kats, bar owners are also very complicated people and just like musicians, they are very unappreciative, something he gradually grew tired of. He explained therefore that he entirely quit the bar business and decided to put all his focus on his YouTube channel, which he recently started up.
MC Kats' stated that he draws inspiration from You Tubers like Kasuku who are always making a living from uploading videos on You tube. MC Kats believes that this is more worthwhile than pulling ropes with bar owners as well as musicians.
MC Kats believes he made the right decision in choosing to solely focus on his You tube Channel as it is now his Avenue for personal growth, something he has decided to pursue whole heartedly.
"I quit the bar business and hosting events in bars because I was never appreciated. Just like musicians, bar owners are really unappreciative people and I hate working for such people honestly. I therefore turned my focus to YouTube, and you can always look out for me through my channel," he said while appearing on the After 5 show earlier this week.
Despite his long standing reputation as the most celebrated Ugandan events host who has groomed quite a long list of other events hosts, Kats has decided to put his guns down and solely focus on something he believes is his calling.
The You tube channel in question is dubbed MC Kats Foundation and is majorly meant to conduct a massive campaign against the spread of HIV/AIDS. Having contracted this disease, MC Kats wants to end the stigma and make HIV/AIDS patients also feel like they are not alone while encouraging those that have not contracted the disease yet to keep safe.
