Internet users have been in dire need of these cheap data options, so much that they have put up with the terrible Lyca network.

Many data consumers ran off to Lyca mobile because of the cheap data prices. To everyone's dismay however, it seems like Lyca Mobile is also diverging from the safe data haven it has been because of the changes they have announced.

Netizens were earlier on bashing Airtel and MTN data services citing that they are not only expensive but get depleted quite faster than they should. Lyca Mobile was however a comfort zone for a few people as they often stated that the data bundles were not only cheap but never really got depleted as fast as other service providers.

All we begun when Lyca Mobile announced changes in the pricing of not only data bundles but also voice and SMS bundles. This seemed like a great move on their end but on he end of the service users, there has been a lot of worry regarding these new changes since they had flocked to Lyca mobile considering it a more affordable option.

For those that use a lot of data however, there have been offers that have been announced for them. According to the statement released by Lyca Mobile, there will be awarding of bonuses to those who reload their data before the current bundle expires.

"Dear valued customers, Lyca Mobile is pleased to launch its new product portfolio with a host of affordable and competitive products comprising Voice Bundles, Data Bundles, Combo Bundles, SMS Bundles. These bundles will be available with Daily, Weekly, and Monthly validity options to all existing and new customers of Lyca Mobile in Uganda. Our bundles are more exciting now and come with bonuses on repeat recharges." Read this statement.

Netizens have been frustrated by these new changes and some have even come out to complain that they are already suffering with network issues while using Lyca Mobile and yet they have the guys to double the data prices while the network still remains inconsistent.

“Lyca thinks now they have a strong customer base so they’ve doubled their data bundle prices. Ain’t no body buying Lyca 50k 5OGb that they can only use at one edge of the bed.” A one uncle Man city commented.

Some users have even come out to state that the previous cheap data charges must have been a hoax in order for Lyca Mobile to entice people into using their data.

“So Lyca mobile was looking for customers such that they can increase their charges.” Mukono's finest commented.

Well, where do these current data prices leave Ugandans in an economy where almost everything has become highly expensive?
