The famous Nigerian American singer, songwriter and record producer David Adedeji Adekele alias Davido not so long ago took to his Twitter account to request his fans to send money to his account if they feel he has given them a hit song. He then went ahead to say that the money was meant to clear his rolls Royce off of taxes from the Port.
“If you know I have given you a hit song.. send me money… una know una selves oo.” He said.
He sent the bank account details where he wanted the money to land and to his utter shock, he had already received 7 Million Naira in 10 minutes after having put up his post. Davido reported back to his fans that he was able to collect a total of 250 Million Naira.
In the same spirit, Ugandan Singer, songwriter and record producer Pius Mayanja alias Pallaso also came out to ask his fans for money to rescue his range rover with Uganda Revenue Authority. He asked for a sum of 100 million Uganda shillings. He posted the Mobile Money numbers that his fans were to and the money to. Fans heard his plea and decided to send money to the numbers and among them, his own father also sent money among his fans.
Recently however, Davido came out and said the plea he had made was in a playful manner but he was deeply touched to see his account flooding with money, which he called overflowing love from his fans. He was overwhelmed and declared his love for all his fans and he said he was to donate the 250 Million Naira to orphanages all over Nigeria. His goal was to do such a fundraising for his birthday every year in form of a give back.
Surprisingly, Pallaso also shocked his fans as he jumped onto the ‘Davido trend’ and also decided to donate all the money he had received from his car fundraising. This came as a shock to many and the fans have been praising him all over social media for having a golden heart.
Pallaso received a total of 4.5 Million Uganda Shillings which he decided to top up to make 7.5 Million Uganda shillings. He was able to give 1 million to the ailing singer Oscar Byg Tym and for the rest of the money, he donated to the Ghetto Kids on Monday, early this week.
“I have donated to the Ghetto Kids not because they are lacking but because I appreciate what they do and I am a big fan of their work.” Pallaso said.
The Ghetto Kids received the money with smiles and they were grateful for the donation. We are thankful for you Pallaso because you have done a fair share of Charity. Kudos.
