Have you been wondering why events promoters are always staging concerts on the same day, colliding with musicians that had put up concerts before? Well, musician Mudra d’viral has come out to share his insights.
During an interview with Galaxy FM, Mudra stated that there is a lot of dirty work going on with events promoters and if this is not dealt with immediately, it could cause a separation amongst musicians. Mudra stated that a few events promoters are trying to involve musicians into politics and unsolicited beef with each other through the act of colliding their concerts.
According to Mudra, he is facing such an altercation with Promoter Abitex who is pushing a concert for musician Acidic Vokos. Since the beginning of June, Mudra has been announcing his concert dubbed Mudra d’viral Live in concert that is meant to happen on 30th August 2024.
However, after having put up his poster, he was surprised to see Acidic Vokoz also putting up a poster with the same date for his Concert dubbed Ndi Musoga. According to Mudra, Abitex must be behind this considering the history they have together.
Mudra recalls that Abitex did not pay him for his performance at Enkuuka but he forgave him. Mudra recalls that Abitex even called him to sing during the fasting period of Ramadhan but he turned down the offer, saying he does not do secular music during the fasting period.
He recalls Abitex sending money to his manager which he returned despite the fact that he was even demanding him money.
“It has to be Abitex. You cant tell me its Acidic. Me and Abitex have a long history together. He did not pay me when I performed at Enkuuka but I forgave him. Even when he tried to book me during Ramadhan, I refused and he sent money to my manager so I sent the money back even when I knew he had unsettled payment with me.” Said Mudra
According to Mudra, musicians also need to get a mind of their own and start opposing Events promoters because no one can force a musician to sing. Mudra stated that this business of competing with fellow artistes while staging concerts on the same day should be handled immediately before it causes a rift amongst musicians.
“I know Acidic is still young and he is learning. But however young you may be, you need to grow a mind of your own too. Sometimes, you need to oppose a promoter. He would never force you to sing when you don’t want to. I have no problem with Acidic Vokoz anyway.” Said Mudra.
