How King Saha became one of Uganda's best artistes?
King Saha whose real name is Mansour Semanda is a Ugandan musician, song writer, business, philanthropist,CEO of Kings Love entertainment and a Muganda by tribe. He was born in Rakai, Masaka district on September 2nd, 1989 to his mother Halima Nakaweesi. He is 33 years old as of this time of writing. King Saha is known for his unique style of music where he mixes various genres such as zouk, rnb, reggae, afrobeat and Bossanova and for his captivating performances.
King Saha enjoyed the gift of education and studied his elementary at Good daddy nursery school, he later joined st. Agnes primary school and Agalyaawamu primary school where he finished his primary seven.
After his primary level Saha joined Nkumba secondary school where he finished his senior four and Kajjansi progressive where he finished his senior six. He later joined Buganda royal institute where he continued his studies in business administration.
When asked how he got his name stage name, king saha said
I was a good footballer when growing up and always admired Louis Saha, so my friends nicknamed me saha. This has been my name even since.
King Saha is currently in a relationship with his longtime girlfriend Joweria Ali. The two have no kids together despite the fact that they have been together for a long time.In 2017 Joweria Ali got a mischarge and the two missed out on a chance of welcoming a child together.It is not known if he has children or not but it is rumored that he impregnated a top UPDF General’s Daughter called Rachel Kente in 2019.
Before becoming a musician, king saha used to grow mairungyi (khat) in kasenge Nsangyi sub-county, Wakiso district. He did this in order to raise funds to support his studio session and his fresh music career in general. King saha was so passionate about music even at an early age, that he even won a bursary through it when he impressed a congregation while singing in mugonga choir.
He started his music career in 2011 at Buganda Royal Institute where he joined a group called “Born fire” in Makindye. This group was founded and managed by producer Didi. In 2012 he dropped his first single titled Ritah which was produced by Didi and in the same year he backed up Gravity Omutujju on his song Swagger.This song caught the attention of Ugandan music legend Jose Chameleon and he signed him to his music label called “Leone island”. It was through this label that he released his break through song title mulirwana. This song opened up doors for king saha and he went on to win his first hipipo award for the best Afro beat song. He went on to release songs like Sikyakusobola and Lwaki tondiko before living Leone island for Team No Sleep (TNS).
Following the success of his hit song mulirwana he held a concert at freedom city in 2014. This concert marked him as one of artists to watch out for in the Uganda music industry. With this newly found fame, pressure has on him to release out more good music, ooh he never disappointed.
King saha released other hit songs Gundeze and Mwana Gwe which got him nominated once again for the hipipo awards, Uganda Entrainment Awards (UEA) and also the Rising star awards, he also got his debut spot at Coke Studio where he teams up with Weasel together with an Ethiopian singer called “Yared Negu “.

King saha has released numerous songs like Signal, Pretty, Sembera, Gulawo, Bberawo, Biri biri, hullo hullo, on my way, Golola ekubo, Sala pressure and among other songs which were all instant hits. He also appeared on slick Stuart and Roja’s 2018 Album with a song called “very well”. This song went on to be one of the biggest hits on the Album and this further more solidified his position on the Ugandan music scene.He has also collaborated with other artists on various music projects like Science with Winnie Nwagi, Vimba with gravity omutujju, Suzanna with shidystlo, Mpa love with weasel, Tamale with pallaso, Nkwagala omu with navio and many others, which has also strengthened his influence on the Uganda music industry and made him one of Uganda’s best artists.
