Aston Villa has given Chelsea permission to begin contract talks with Jhon Duran as they continue their search for a top goalscorer.
It has been reported that both clubs have agreed on a £40 million ($50.7million) price tag.

It has also been reported that Chelsea tried to sign Jhon Duran earlier this year during the winter transfer window but his injury at the time, halted any advances.

Aston Villa are also interested in Chelsea's Ian Maatsen and Conor Gallagher and they hope that Jhon Duran's move may help in aiding their relationship with Chelsea.

Ian Maatsen impressed on his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund but Dortmund are not willing to pay Chelsea's £35 million release clause, and as such, Unai Emery's side are now considering a move for Ian Maatsen. Aston Villa are also interested in Conor Gallagher.

It has been reported that Chelsea want to offer Jhon Duran a long incentivised contract, rather than putting him straight on big wages as they try to gauge the Colombian's character with the striker believed to be an 'unusual' character. This may make the contract negotiations difficult.

Chelsea are expected to close the deal for Jhon Duran before the end of the month, as they would like to prepare the squad for Enzo Marseca's first season.

Matthijs de Ligt, who played under Erik Ten Hag at Ajax has emerged as a key target for Manchester United. The club have initiated internal discussions about a potential move, but no concrete steps have been taken yet.

Bayern Munich are asking for €50 million for Matthijs de Ligt. It has been reported that Manchester United are in the process of assessing their budget and determining whether they can meet Bayern's valuation.

Manchester United are aware that to get a quality player like Matthijs de Ligt, they will require a substantial investment. With Manchester United already fighting to comply with Financial Fair Play  regulations, it remains to be seen whether they are ready to spend such a hefty fee.

Bayern Munich are also looking to improve on their defense so they put  Matthijs de Ligt on sale as the player fell out of favour. Bayern Munich has triggered Stuttgart's Hiroki Ito's €30 million (£25 million/$32 million) release clause and have agreed a five year deal with the 25 year old Japanese international.
