The current President of Burundi, Mr Pierre Nkurunziza has died from the novel Corona Virus according to multiple sources.
The government Today (Tuesday) managed to announce his death after long hours of trying to come up with an official statement. The president is reported to have died yesterday (Monday) after battling a short illness.
Before his sudden death, his wife, the first Lady , Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza was airlifted on a light plane to Nairobi in Kenya on May 28th where she was immediately rushed to AgaKhan Hospital for treatment of Corona virus disease for which she was tested positive.

By the time this happened, people began speculating that Pierre was Covid 19 positive since his wife was confirmed to be having it.
Over last weekend, the president was seen at various sports activities , looking very healthy according to a local reporter in Burundi but later in the weekend he was rushed to a hospital in Burundi's capital, Bujumbura.
It's from there, that he later died to what was referred to as a heart attack by the government of Burundi in today's statement.
However, Corona virus is known for shutting down multiple organs in the body like the heart when it has reached a serious state and this is what the fallen president could have been facing when he died, May his soul rest in peace.
