* Senator Michael Bennet appealed to the Congress to approve more aid for Ukraine
* The Biden administration said it will be sending the last package unless the Congress approves more
* The United States again struggles to assert its role in the world during the Biden presidential term.
As the Senate wrapped up its work for the year, Senator Micheal Bennett pleaded with the Congress to redouble its support for Ukraine. It was the third time in recent months that the Colorado democrat has kept the senate working for longer hours by holding up unrelated legislation in a bid to persuade the lawmakers to approve billions of dollars in weaponry and economic aid for Ukraine. The senator called on his comrades to view the almost two years conflict as a clash between authoritarianism and democracy. The congress has broken off for holidays and not expected to return for two weeks with the Biden administration planning to send one more aid package and it says it be the last before congress approves more money.
The United States again struggles to assert its role in the world which was not the case under former Repulican Donald Trump forcing lawmakers to take a sceptical stance towards the U.S involvement abroad in Ukraine. Western leaders continue to implore western nations to continue their robust support although Russia's President Putin has emboldened and is building resources for a fresh war effort come next year. Issues arise over bolstering Ukraine's defense with the fate of $61billion in funding tied to policy negotiations over the border and immigration changes. The Congress leaders are still trying to rally members to address challenges they say are the most difficult in decades with U.S having to exercise policy negotiations in over 5 different regions of the world which has still affected its assertion of global dominance.
The largest land in nvasion of Europe on a country since 1939- 1945 world war ll, war between Hamas and Israel, unrest and economic calamity driving historic levels of migrations coupled with China's imposition as a global power are some of the feuds the U.S is trying to deal with of late. Republican senate leader Mitch Mc Connell is quoted to have said " from South Texas to north east Asia and from the the black sea to the Red sea, it is a historically challenging and consequential to protect American interests, our allies and own people." With growing insurgencies from all over the world we y'all just wait to see how the issue will be handled and what policy changes may U.S have to implement to protect its hegemony from extinction.
